Although using an urban legend from our home country was advised, I decided to use an urban legend from Japan because I had more ideas for it and we were allowed to do so. My choices came down to Kuchisake-onna [ 口裂け女 - Slit-mouthed woman] and Akai heya [ 赤い部屋 - The Red Room Curse]. In the end, I decided to make an editorial illustration from Kuchisake-onna.
