Perspective

Some brief perspective practices; I figured I could take a shot at doing a five point perspective, I'd say I did an okay job, but I definitely do need to practice more, especially using human figures instead of just boxes/houses.

Silhouette sketches

Not technically an exercise; These sketches didn't really have any direction, as I made them before figuring out what I wanted exactly. I decided to take these and combine them into an exterior later on.

Values Practice

Mr. Kanaan said that the house blends in too much with the grass and flowers and I should hold them, and I agree; I did that because I did not want the house to be too light, but it ended up making the house almost hidden I feel like. I drew the waterfall white to emphasize the presence of water, although I probably could have used a different method rather than just using white.

Color management and ambiance

I combined both of these together because I was going for both of those things at once at the time; I tried to give a melancholic yet peaceful atmosphere in the first picture and a gloomy and mysterious, yet mystical atmosphere in the second. Mr. Kanaan suggested that I figure out the story for the glowing spots (They were meant to be berries) in the second, but I didn't really do anything with it because I ended up straying away from that idea.
